Play Your Way | Bang & Olufsen

Bang & Olufsen's imagery language had hit a dead end. Flat, inconsistent, bit of a snooze-fest. It needed to regain its footing as a brand with a sharp eye for style, sophistication and surprise.

We undertook the biggest still and motion production in the brand's history, prioritising the use of analogue film, quiet-luxury details and diverse talent. The crux? Coining new lifestyle imagery that felt fresh but familiar. The kicker? Five-year buyout for all assets.

We first shot our cinematic products in Sweden, then our portables in France. I scripted and directed all films at the first shoot. We had to keep these technically simple for budget's sake, but to ensure we had visual cut-through, we pushed for off-kilter action and framing.

In terms of music and sound design, I wouldn’t settle. We commissioned Jens Ole McCoy, one half of popular Danish group Ukendt Kunstner, to create a set of bespoke pieces that are cool, well-crafted and carefully woven into the spaces we’re observing. Music and home in perfect harmony – a brilliant sonic backdrop to reflect our new, dreamy world.
